We are seeking an to join Administrative Officer at Wood Lane Primary School. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of the school’s administrative functions, provide excellent support for the Headteacher and staff team within a fast-paced environment of a busy small school.

The ideal candidate will:
- Able to give a long-standing commitment and show a keenness to being an integral part of the school’s journey forward over time
- Have the ability and hold a mature and professional disposition
- A proactive and adaptable approach to handling tasks and challenges.
- Have experience of working in an office environment, monitor stock, undertaking complex financial administrative procedures, undertake the administration of Payroll systems.
- Experience of processing invoices, processing orders
- Be organised and meticulous in their presentation and their time management
- Have impeccable standards of grammar with a secure and working command of English (GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths is a must).
- Be able to set up processes and schedules, embracing the principles of sound operational management
- Be able to communicate warmly and professionally with contractors, external services and all school stakeholders
- Demonstrate the ability and an understanding of people management techniques
- Be competent and efficient in word processing and in using a range of computer software packages to support administration such as the Microsoft Office Suite
- Be able to adapt and respond calmly and effectively to situations which arise in real time
- Manage sensitive information discretely, maintain confidentiality at all times and hold the Headteacher’s counsel
- Have a sense of humour
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and you persons within the school.
- Comply with and assist the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection.
- Attend and participate in meetings
- Hold Paediatric First Aid/ Basic First Aid or willingness to train to the required standard, to meet the requirements of the role.
- Anything deemed within a reasonable request by the headteacher or senior leader.
Previous experience in education and of working in a busy office required. Financial and HR training, knowledge of the SIMS ICT program would be advantageous although helpful, is not essential. Experience in working with senior staff who hold a challenging caseload of priorities is beneficial.
