At Hayle Academy, we are seeking an exceptional ARB Learning Practitioner to join our dedicated team and lead high‑quality provision within our specialist Area Resource Base, attached to our vibrant mainstream school.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is committed to nurturing pupils with complex needs, championing their strengths and ensuring they experience success both within the ARB and across the wider school community.
Key responsibilities:
As an ARB Learning Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning, wellbeing and development of pupils with a range of SEND needs. You will:
Under the guidance of the ARB Lead Teacher, plan and deliver engaging, personalised teaching that supports academic, social, emotional and communication development
Have a clear understanding of the needs of all learners in the class group and be able to use different strategies to engage and support them.
Create a nurturing, structured and inclusive learning environment tailored to pupils’ needs
Lead a team of Teaching Assistants and work collaboratively with therapists and external agencies.
Support the marking and assessing work of work under the guidance of the ARB Lead.
Build strong, supportive relationships with parents and carers and keep parents informed about their child's progress on a daily basis through completion of the home school diary.
Use the school’s systems for recording and reporting (CPOMS and Arbor) in relation to individual students.
Support pupils’ inclusion in mainstream lessons and wider school life
Contribute to whole‑school SEND practice and professional development

Experienced or highly motivated to work with pupils with complex SEND
Skilled in adapting teaching, resources and environments to meet diverse needs
Calm, resilient and nurturing, with a child‑centred approach
A strong communicator, able to work effectively with families, colleagues and external professionals
Reflective and committed to ongoing professional development
Passionate about inclusion, equality and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed
