Caretaker
Alveston C of E Primary School is seeking a caring and dedicated Caretaker to join our successful, friendly community starting on 1st September 2026.
The Caretaker role is one of the most important at Alveston. As Caretaker you will be responsible for opening and checking our school building and grounds to ensure
they are safe to use and in tip top condition, so our environment remains a joyful place to teach, learn and visit.

We are looking for a caretaker with a sunny disposition, a team player with an eye for detail, who will take pride in their work and enjoy ensuring our grounds and building looks and operates at its very best. The successful candidate will be a keyholder, open the school each morning and carry out safety checks of the buildings and grounds. They will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

No prior experience is required; however, a willingness to be available and a practical approach would be beneficial.
Working a minimum of 5 hours per week from 7am to 8am, to open our grounds and building each day. The role is Monday to Friday for 39 term time weeks plus 5 days spread over the school holidays. 40 weeks paid pro rata over 12 months per year in total. However, the role could be extended for the right person looking for more hours or more weeks of work. In short, if you are motivated to deliver the very best in all that you do and have the right skills and attitude, we will do our best to tweak the role to suit you.
