About the role

We are seeking to appoint a reliable, proactive Caretaker to play a key role in maintaining our school site. This is a varied and important position, helping to ensure our school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, compliant and well cared for each day.

The role involves:

  • Opening and securing the premises
  • Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance
  • Completing statutory Health & Safety checks (fire, water, emergency lighting etc.)
  • Monitoring cleaning standards and supporting the cleaning team with cleaning duties as and when required
  • Liaising with contractors and maintaining accurate compliance records

Working Hours

  • 6:00am - 10:30am (Mon-Thurs)
  • 6:00am - 10:00am (Friday)
  • 3:00pm - 6:00pm (Mon-Fri)

(37 hours per week, split shift)

About you

We are looking for a dependable and proactive individual who takes genuine pride in maintaining high standards and understands the importance of creating a safe, welcoming environment for children, parents and staff.

You will:

  • Be reliable, well-organised and punctual
  • Have practical DIY and maintenance skills
  • Understand Health & Safety responsibilities within a working environment
  • Be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing
  • Be comfortable using basic IT systems for logging and record keeping
  • Share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
