Clinical Specialist Lymphoedema Therapist
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust · Derby, DE1 2QY
The Derby Lymphovascular Medicine Service is seeking to recruit enthusiastic new team members.
The service holds clinics in Florence Nightingale Community Hospital (Derby), Long Eaton Health Centre (Nottingham) and Kings Mill Hospital (Mansfield). The successful applicant will be based at our Derby site, however cross site cover may be required.
This is a multidisciplinary service and the new team members can be Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists. Each of our three teams currently consists of a Band 7 Team Leader, Band 6 Clinical Specialist Lymphoedema Therapists, Clinical Support Workers, and Administrators.
The clinics operate Monday to Friday. The service offers outpatient appointments to adults and children with lymphoedema of varying causes, including primary lymphoedema and secondary lymphoedema. The service also sees patients with vascular and lymphatic malformations, segmental overgrowth and lipoedema.
Previous experience in treating lymphoedema is preferred but not essential. A good understanding of compression garments, indications of use and the ability to apply compression bandaging is also advantageous.
