Job description

The post holder will provide specialist clinical and professional leadership to support the delivery of high quality care for women at risk of preterm birth, with a 60% clinical commitment including the management of a midwifery led preterm birth clinic. The role will be responsible for triaging referrals, coordinating care pathways, supporting multidisciplinary management and ensuring timely follow up of women accessing the service.

In addition, the post holder will contribute to the implementation and sustainability of elements 2-5 of the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle Version 3 (SBLCBv3) through education, audit, quality improvement and clinical leadership. Working collaboratively with consultant obstetricians, the Clinical Practice Education team, and governance colleagues, the post holder will support compliance with national maternity safety initiatives, undertake regular audits and promote evidence based practice to improve outcomes for women and babies. The role will provide visible clinical leadership, acting as a role model and expert resource for staff across the maternity service.
