We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and supportive secondary girls’ school. The Role

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support high-quality learning across the curriculum. You will deliver planned lessons and interventions, provide targeted support to students, and contribute to raising standards of achievement throughout the school.

The successful candidate will be confident leading learning activities with whole classes, small groups, and individual students, while fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

●       Deliver lessons and learning activities to classes in the absence of teaching staff and as directed by subject leaders.

●       Support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4.

●       Lead targeted intervention programmes to accelerate student progress and attainment.

●       Provide academic and pastoral support to individual students and small groups.

●       Monitor, assess, and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.

●       Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement in learning.

●       Support students with additional learning needs to access the curriculum effectively.

●       Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and events.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

●       HLTA status or an equivalent qualification and relevant experience.

●       Experience of working successfully with secondary-aged students.

●       Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.

●       The ability to build positive and productive relationships with young people.

●       A commitment to supporting the achievement and wellbeing of girls and young women.

●       Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

●       High expectations of student achievement, behaviour, and personal development.
