To support students across our school, we have developed a bespoke Learning Hub provision. This supports a range of students who are unable to access all or part of their usual curriculum for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Induction for new students joining the school
  • Students with short-term physical injuries that limit movement across the site
  • Students following modified timetables to meet individual needs
  • Students reintegrating back to school following absence or illness

This role involves providing day-to-day supervision and support for a small number of students working within the Learning Hub. Typically, students access the Hub for a short period of time or for agreed, timetabled sessions each week. The provision also includes some lunchtime and after-school sessions.

We are seeking a committed and adaptable individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to identify and reduce barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Learning Hub Lead Teacher and liaise closely with Achievement Leaders to ensure students are well supported academically and pastorally. Students in the Learning Hub will either complete work set by subject teachers or work towards additional qualifications.

You will:

  • Liaise with subject departments to support students in continuing their learning outside of the classroom
  • Provide structured support for students following modified timetables or temporary alternative provision
  • Facilitate the delivery of additional qualifications and enrichment activities
  • Communicate regularly with classroom teachers to ensure continuity and progress
  • Promote positive attitudes to learning and support students’ inclusion within the wider school community
  • Build effective relationships with students, staff and parents
  • Deliver bespoke interventions to individual/small groups of students to help remove barriers to learning.
  • Support students’ social, emotional and academic development
  • Engage in ongoing professional development
