Location: Mead Vale Primary School, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Interview date: 17 July 2026

Start date: 3 September 2026

Contract: 13 hours 30 minutes per week, term-time only. Fixed term position until 31 August 2027

Working pattern: 10.00 - 15.00 Monday, Tuesday and Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and wellbeing? Whether you’re seeking a career change, just finished college with a qualification in Education or Early Years, or have experience in care, healthcare, or volunteering with children, we’d love to hear from you.

Formal qualifications help, but they’re not essential. What matters most is your mindset:

Proactive, energetic, and committed to engaging pupils.

Able to inspire confidence and independence.

Calm, patient, and sensitive, providing comfort when children are upset.

Enthusiastic about creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

While previous school experience is desirable, we also welcome applications from candidates who have personal experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.

About the role

Provide special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) 1:1 support and work with small groups

Support pupils across all year groups

Term-time only
