Salary Range (FTE) £29,308 - £29,834 (Salary includes a market supplement, starting salary is subject to qualifications)

The role is based at Sunfield Garden School and Children's Homes, an independent specialist school educating children and young people (6-19) with complex behaviour and learning difficulties including autistic spectrum conditions.

Sunfield Specialist School and Children’s Home sustains a distinguished historical legacy in the beautiful Clent Hills, West Midlands. Sunfield’s farm, walled garden and woodlands provide excellent opportunities for outdoor learning and practical activities. Sunfield is part of Ruskin Mill Trust.

Established in 1984, Ruskin Mill Trust is an educational charity that operates in England, Scotland and Wales. We offer exciting outdoor learning environments, utilising practical land and craft activities to support the development of work and life skills in young people with autistic spectrum conditions and other learning differences. Our research-led method, Practical Skills Therapeutic Education, is inspired by the work of Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris. Working with hand, head, heart and place, Ruskin Mill Trust helps individuals to re-imagine their potential.

We are looking to appoint Night Residential Support Workers, who will work as part of a team supervising young people during waking night shifts, supporting with behaviours that challenge, administering medication and undertaking household tasks, such as cooking, cleaning and laundry, while the young people are asleep.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

• A patient, caring, compassionate child-centered approach
• Ideally have previous experience of working in a residential setting and supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
• Excellent communication skills, as well as experience of report writing and record keeping
• Emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to react calmly in challenging situations
• Able to provide personal care and administer medication, dependent on our student needs
