If you have a keen interest, experience or expertise working within Hepatology, this exciting new role could be for you. This is an exciting opportunity within Newcastle Hospitals Hepatology service who have recently acquired IQILS status. Over the last 4 years there has been investment in the nursing team across all areas including Alcohol Misuse, Auto Immune Hepatitis, Hepatic Cell Carcinoma, and Cirrhosis.

The focus of this role is Liver Cirrhosis, and the working week includes nurse led clinics, clinical interventions, including paracentesis drainage. It also offers psychological and emotional support to our liver cirrhosis patients and their family and loved ones from diagnosis throughout their journey and sometimes supporting End of Life Care. This involves patients both at home and in the acute Trust.

This Cirrhosis nurse role is a relatively new development and constantly evolving. This is an opportunity to help shape this service and help it strive forward to provide a continued standard of excellence to our patients.
