Occupational Therapist - Older Adult Community Mental Health

The Older Adults Duty and Triage Team have an opportunity for a full-time band 6 Occupational Therapist or Registered Community Mental Health nurse (advertised separately)

The Team works predominately with people aged over 65 who have dementia or complex mental health problems; the team covers all of Worcestershire.

The post involves working as a cohesive team to manage and triage all the referrals coming to the service, either signposting to other agencies or if appropriate assigning them to a community mental health team for assessment and treatment. The post also involves visiting patients in the community that you have identified as requiring urgent input to complete an initial assessment and arrange appropriate follow up.

You will need to have experience with the patient group and community work, with a sound knowledge of risk assessment; you will be offered 1-1 supervision and ongoing support. You will enjoy working in a close-knit and supportive team.

The 37.5 hours are to be worked Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm, although the team is flexible and supports work-life balance. For the right candidate we can offer part time hours at a minimum of 22.5 hours per week.
