Pupil Support Assistant - SEND - Grade 4 Permanent/Full Time/Term time only contract.

Actual Salary: £20,172.00

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pupil Support Assistant to join our inclusive and nurturing school community, within our SEND Specialist Provision (Butterflies) supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Candidates will need to be physically and emotionally resilient, have experience in behaviour management and able to inspire and engage with children with complex needs.

This role involves working with pupils with needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Communication and Interaction difficulties and Social Skills Development.

We are looking for candidates who will enthuse and motivate our children with additional needs to do their best while maintaining a healthy learning environment for them within our SEND provision.

Key Responsibilities:

*           Provide tailored support to pupils with complex SEND

*           Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies

*           Foster a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment

*           Support pupils in developing communication, interaction, and social skills

*           Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

*           Promote emotional wellbeing and resilience in pupils.

The successful candidate will have:

*           Experience of working with children with SEMH, autism spectrum conditions, or other complex SEND

*           A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach

*          An understanding of child development and barriers to learning

*           Strong communication and teamwork skills

*           A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.

Five Ways is a large, three form entry primary school with approximately 650 pupils on roll. Our school is made up of a dedicated team of Staff and Governors working together to provide a stimulating environment which is conductive to learning.

Interviews will be held on: Friday 10th July 2026.

As part of the interview process, candidates will be expected to complete a 15-minute written task.
