Telford College is looking for a Recruitment, Payroll & Workforce Data Officer to play a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient and compliant HR service across the College. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to payroll and workforce data reporting.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of the employee lifecycle, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant and deliver a positive experience for staff.
You’ll work closely with the HR team to:
- Coordinate recruitment and safer recruitment processes
- Manage onboarding, contracts and employee records
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Maintain HR systems and workforce data integrity
- Produce workforce reports and support statutory returns
This is a highly varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing Recruitment, payroll and data management in a busy, purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment administration, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment
- Manage onboarding processes including contracts, documentation and pre-employment checks
- Administer the full employee lifecycle, including changes, absence monitoring and leavers
- Process monthly payroll changes and liaise with payroll providers
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and ensure data integrity
- Produce workforce data reports (e.g. absence, turnover, headcount)
- Support compliance with GDPR, safeguarding and audit requirements
- Act as a key point of contact for HR administrative and payroll queries
Skills & Expertise
- Experienced in HR administration across the employee lifecycle (including recruitment and onboarding)
- Confident working with payroll processes and HR systems
- Experienced in using HR systems (e.g. iTrent or similar HRIS) and comfortable working with data and reporting tools
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Knowledgeable in HR compliance, safer recruitment and data protection
Qualifications & Training
- Level 2 Qualification in Maths & English (GCSE A* – C)
- Hold or working towards relevant HR or Payroll Qualification (CIPD Level 3 or CIPP Level 3)
