Job description

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic midwife who will provide clinical and managerial midwifery leadership within the maternity unit at Royal London Hospital. They will be based in clinical practice, responsible for ensuring that standards of care are always upheld. Working with the Matrons and ward managers the postholder will take overall responsibility for ensuring that flow of clinical activities and staff deployment as and when required is maintained within the maternity unit as per the Maternity Escalation Policy.

The individual should be visible and accessible to women and their families and staff, ensuring all women and their families could seek information, help, and support or to communicate problematic or celebratory issues. To achieve this, the expectation is that the postholder will be rostered on a 7-day Rota to include weekends.

The post holder will contribute to discharge planning by liaising between inpatient maternity services, NICU and Community Midwifery Service. Also have overall responsibility for ensuring that flow of activities is maintained throughout the service.

The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary teams within Barts Health and the LMNS in facilitating In-utero and Ex-utero transfers in a timely manner.
