About the Role:
The Governors are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated
person to complement our hard-working and friendly team at Boroughbridge
Primary School and Nursery.

to develop and lead SEND provision across the school
The successful candidate will:
- Be
passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their
full potential.
- Have
experience of working as a SENCo in a primary school setting.
- Hold
the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
- Have
a secure understanding of SEND processes, provision mapping and funding
arrangements.
- Have
a calm, nurturing and child-centred approach.
- Be
able to communicate effectively and share information clearly with class
teachers, support staff and external agencies.
- Have
experience of working closely with parents and carers to ensure positive
outcomes for children.
- Have
experience of planning and delivering SEND-related CPD and supporting
colleagues to develop inclusive practice.
- Have
the ability to establish constructive working relationships with pupils,
parents/carers, colleagues and outside agencies.
- Have
excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to maintain
accurate and confidential records.
- Be
committed to promoting inclusion and ensuring that pupils with additional
needs are able to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
- Demonstrate
strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in
a busy school environment.
Job Purpose
To lead and manage the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs
and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that all pupils are able to access a broad
and balanced curriculum and achieve their full potential.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the SENCo will
contribute to the strategic leadership and development of the school,
championing inclusion and ensuring that pupils with SEND are able to thrive and
achieve their full potential.
To work collaboratively with staff, families and external
agencies to promote inclusion, raise achievement and secure positive outcomes
for all pupils.
