About the Role

As a SEND Teacher at Southfield, you will:

  • Deliver creative, engaging and personalised learning for pupils with complex needs
  • Create a nurturing classroom environment where every child can succeed
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals
  • Track, assess and celebrate pupil progress and development
  • Contribute to the wider life, vision and continuous improvement of the school

You will play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, independence, communication skills and a love of learning.

  • Is passionate about inclusive education and enabling every child to reach their potential
  • Demonstrates strong classroom practice and behaviour management
  • Is resilient, reflective and nurturing in their approach
  • Enjoys working as part of a committed and supportive team
  • Has high expectations for themselves and their pupils
  • Can deliver a commitment to SEND and inclusive practice
  • Desirables would include experience working with autism and complex needs and knowledge of strategies such as TEACCH, Makaton or sensory approaches
