SEND Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and help create an inclusive, positive learning environment for every child.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs. You will help to adapt resources, assist with personalised learning plans and provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to help each child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEND to access learning in a way that works for them
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group interventions
- Assist in developing and delivering personalised learning plans
- Promote independence, confidence and emotional well‑being
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Record progress and contribute to review meetings where required
We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant who:
- Has experience of working with pupils with SEND and SEMH
- Patient, empathetic and child‑centred
- Able to build strong relationships and communicate effectively
- Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing needs
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
- A team player with a positive and proactive approach
