Senior Clinical Coder

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust · Stockport, SK2 7JE

Job description

Senior Clinical Coder - AFC Band 5, dependant on experience and qualifications

An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are looking to recruit Clinical Coders with enthusiasm and motivation to join our dedicated, award winning and friendly team.

We are able to offer a hybrid working pattern, and promote flexible working with varied working patterns to suit individual personal commitments, encouraging a healthy work/life balance.

This is a great time to join us as we embrace increased collaborative working with colleagues at Tameside & Glossop ICFT, sharing a Head of Clinical Coding and a Training Manager. We are hopeful that this will allow for more support and consistency across both coding teams.

We are looking for candidates who are ACC qualified and who have experience coding across a range of specialities within an Acute NHS Trust. You should have good knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, be able to demonstrate competency in the use of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications, be proficient in the use of digital systems and have a sound understanding of national clinical coding standards and conventions.

Those who do not hold ACC qualification but have experience in an acute NHS Trust will be considered for a Band 4 role, and those who are looking to begin their career in Clinical Coding, are willing to commit to the training necessary to become qualified, would be welcome to apply for the Band 3 Trainee Clinical Coder post.
