Senior Healthcare Support Worker - Surgery

Whipps Cross University Hospital is looking to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will work within the surgery division at Whipps Cross. This post is open to individuals who are both experienced Healthcare Support Workers or those new to care. Individuals that are new to care will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within six months upon successful completion of all required competencies.
We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a hospital setting. The role involves undertaking a range of delegated clinical tasks, such as:
- Patient observations (e.g., monitoring vital signs)
- Assisting with personal care and mobility
- Supporting patients' nutritional and hydration needs
- Undertaking limited range of delegated duties (e.g. taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening)
- Simple wound dressings
- Strong teamworking and communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, and safety of our patients.
An excellent communicator, they have experience of working in a team, to ensure the comfort, wellbeing and safety of our patients.
Barts Health has a diverse and busy service that may require staff to be flexible in their working. The post holder will be required to work within a challenging clinical environment and may undertake shift work which may include nights and weekends.
