An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmacy team at Velindre Cancer Services. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and forward-thinking individual to join our friendly and dynamic pharmacy department. This varied and rewarding role will support safe, efficient and effective delivery of procurement and distribution services, contributing to high-quality patient care across the organisation.

The successful candidate will support the Senior Pharmacy Technician in Procurement and Distribution with the training and development of pharmacy assistants undertaking in house competencies and NVQ qualifications in line with current standards. In addition, the role will involve supporting automation maintenance and troubleshooting, systems such as our automated dispensing cabinets, and within the new Cancer centre the new pharmacy robot.

This role also offers excellent opportunities for career development, including progression within the dispensary as an accredited checking assistant. There will also be opportunities to work at ward level, engaging directly with patients and supporting medicine optimisation and discharge services to enhance patient care and experience.
