Seven

Hills School is a secondary special school for young people aged 11–19 with a

range of complex needs including severe learning difficulties, autism, physical

disabilities and communication difficulties. We are committed to providing

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Student Support / Pastoral

Co-ordinator to join our team.

The school operates over three

sites, Granville Road (S2) The Bridge, which is a site on the Talbot/Newfield

campus (S8) and Peaks College, Waterthorpe Greenway (S20).

Based initially at our Granville

Road site, this is a key role within the school, ensuring that high

expectations, positive relationships and effective routines are maintained to

support pupils' wellbeing, engagement and success.

Whilst the postholder will be based at Granville Road in the first instance,

they may be required to work at any Seven Hills School campus to meet the needs

of the school. At Granville Road, the role is predominantly pastoral,

supporting wellbeing, attendance, safeguarding and personal development. When

working across other sites, the role will encompass a broader combination of

pastoral and student support responsibilities.

As a valued member of the Safeguarding Team, the successful candidate will play

an important role in promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of pupils and

will undertake the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support

pupils to develop self-regulation, resilience and independence.

  • Design,

deliver and evaluate targeted pastoral, attendance, behaviour and

wellbeing interventions under the direction of middle and senior leaders.

  • Work

closely with parents/carers to promote positive outcomes for pupils.

  • Support

attendance monitoring and lead follow-up actions with families and

external agencies.

  • Implement

behaviour support programmes for individuals and groups.

  • Support

staff in personalising strategies to improve engagement and behaviour for

learning.

  • Utilise

therapeutic, restorative and de-escalation approaches.

  • Monitor,

analyse and follow up behavioural incidents.

  • Work

alongside the Leadership Team and Safeguarding Team to ensure effective

safeguarding practice.

  • Provide

pastoral support and informal counselling where appropriate.

  • Liaise

effectively with external professionals and agencies.

  • Work

flexibly across key stages and school sites in response to operational

need.

  • Occasionally

supervise classes during the short-term absence of a teacher.
