Job description

Deykin Avenue J&I School is a vibrant, friendly school within the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership.  Together with our supportive families, we nurture every child with kindness, confidence and a lifelong love of learning. We are now seeking two passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team to support across a phase within the school.  This is an exciting opportunity to support our pupils through interventions that result in children making strong progress. Strong knowledge of phonics and RWI is desirable, but training can be provided if not.

The Teaching Assistant will be required to:

Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities

Assist pupils with learning, ensuring they reach their full potential

Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Support with preparation of resources and classroom management

Contribute to pupil wellbeing and pastoral support

What you’ll need to succeed

Strong numeracy and literacy skills are essential.

Be enthusiastic and enjoy working with children.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Be committed to supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
