Job description
  • Experience of working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting.

A good understanding of how children learn and develop.

Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required.

Patience, flexibility and a caring approach.

Ability to support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Good standards of literacy and numeracy.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.

Desirable

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.

Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).

Experience of supporting pupils with SEND.

Knowledge of phonics, early reading, or intervention programmes
