Waste Enforcement Officer (PKC13832)£34,424 - £37,784Pullar House, 35 Kinnoull Street, Perth
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Waste Enforcement Officer and to help make a real difference to those affected by irresponsible, indiscriminate and illegal Flytipping.
You will be responsible for driving behavioural change through the promotion of responsible waste disposal, issuing Fixed Penalty Notices to offenders caught Flytipping, and as required preparing file cases for prosecution through the Scottish Court system.
There will be an opportunity to also get involved in shaping strategy, help deliver communications campaigns and work alongside other teams and stakeholders to keep our beautiful area free from dumping.
Whilst the focus will be on Flytipping Enforcement, there will an expectation to get involved in anti-littering activities, including the soon to be introduced penalties for those seen littering from cars.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work in a fast-paced environment, be able to work on their own and manage many caseloads at the same time.

Skills & Experience RequiredYou must have a good standard of education, have excellent literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to log evidence and provide comprehensive reports that would stand up to scrutiny in Court. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships to adopt a collaborative approach to work both internally and with partner organisations is required Knowledge of legislation and applying such is required, in particular the Environmental Protection Act 1990 sections 33, 34, 87 and 88 It would be desirable to have knowledge of other associated environmental & waste control related legislation, Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act, 2000 and Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995. You will be required to demonstrate the ability to handle difficult confrontational situations involving angry or aggressive customers. Be able to work alone, outdoors in all weathers and be able to move, relocate and set up surveillance equipment such as CCTV around the authority. Possess a Full Driving Licence.
