Advertising and affiliate disclosure
GovJobs is member-supported. Searching and reading every listing is free and needs no account. Following the apply link to the employer needs an account and, from 1 September 2026, a membership of £1 a month that you can cancel at any time. Running the site costs money, so this page sets out exactly how it is funded and what that does — and does not — change about what you see.
Who operates GovJobs
GovJobs is built and operated by Unique Evolution. It is an independent commercial project. It is not a government service and is not affiliated with the NHS, the Civil Service, any council, or any government body. You can read more on our about page.
Membership
Our main source of income is the GovJobs membership: £1 a month, paid through Stripe, which unlocks the apply links on every listing. Members are not shown different jobs, different rankings or different adverts from anyone else, and employers cannot pay to reach members. What the fee buys is the running of the site: servers, twice-daily fetches from official sources, and the alerts. The full terms are in our terms of use.
Advertising
We display advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can control this through your Google Ads Settings, and through the cookie banner shown when you first visit. Our privacy policy explains the data involved.
Advertising is bought against the site as a whole. Advertisers do not choose which vacancies appear next to their ads, and they have no access to your search history or saved jobs.
Affiliate links
Some links on GovJobs are affiliate links. If you follow one and go on to buy something, we may earn a commission from that company. It costs you nothing extra, and the price you pay is the same as it would be if you had gone to them directly.
We currently have affiliate arrangements with PurpleCV, a CV-writing service, and Checkmyfile, a credit report service. Their promotions appear on job listing pages. Every affiliate link on the site is labelled “Ad” where it appears, and carries the sponsored attribute that tells search engines the link is paid.
What this does not affect
This is the part that matters most, so we will be blunt about it:
- Employers cannot pay to appear on GovJobs. We index vacancies from official public-sector sources on a schedule. There is no paid inclusion and no advertised listing product — and membership fees come from jobseekers, never from employers.
- Nobody can pay to rank higher. Search results are ordered by your chosen sort — relevance, date, closing date or salary — and by nothing else. There is no commercial weighting in the ranking.
- Nobody can pay to be removed. We correct listings that are wrong and remove ones that have closed, but we do not take vacancies down as a commercial favour.
- We do not sell your personal data. We do not pass your details to employers, recruiters or advertisers. Applications happen on the official employer site, not here.
- Our guides and articles are not sponsored. No company has paid for coverage, a mention, or a recommendation in our editorial content.

Our guides and blog articles are written by the GovJobs editorial team. Where we describe pay, we describe the published structures — NHS Agenda for Change bands, NJC council pay points, Civil Service grades — and link to the official source rather than quoting figures we cannot stand behind. We are not careers advisers, and nothing on GovJobs is financial or legal advice.
