This is a unique post where a suitably motivated experienced or new Band 6 SLT would have the following CV-building opportunities;
Delivering high quality clinical care in the community in line with the national drive in preventative care.
Partaking in a full quality improvement project with support from the organisation's QI lead and senior therapists
FEES competencies and supporting inhouse, SLT led FEEs service
Ability to assist the reshaping of our service provision to local care home residents. This will include looking at models of delivery, streamlining the service and helping leads to review data capture in this area.

Essential: - Recognised speech & language therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
Essential: - Evidence of Continuing Professional Development; - Evidence of appropriate external and internal training as appropriate to specialism.
Desirable: - Completion of clinical supervision training.; - Previous FEES experience
Essential: - Substantial clinical experience with an adult acquired caseload; - Assessment, treatment, management of complex patients with progressive neurological conditions; - Experience of working with other professionals relevant to client groups.; - Experience of undertaking appraisal and planning CPD for less experienced staff.; - Experience of being involved in clinical audit/service evaluation/quality improvement
Desirable: - Development and delivery education and training packages.; - Experience of supporting patients with AAC provision.
Essential: - Good interpersonal skills/team work; - Knowledge of BHC
Essential: - Health and Care Professions Council Licence to practice.
Desirable: - Member of relevant CEN(s).; - Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
Essential: - Able to demonstrate a high level of competence in the management of communication patients.; - To be able to independently assess and manage patients with dysphagia; - To be competent in handling the emotional and psychosocial aspects of working with a complex SLT caseload in the community; - Knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions for dysphagia and communication and an ability to compare and contrast relative benefits.; - Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance.; - Knowledge of national policies and procedures. (relevant to the specialist client group) such as NICE, NSF and Disability Discrimination Act; - Current UK driver's license/Car driver with access to own car for work purposes
