Band 6 - Community Specialist Podiatrist £45,953 - £54,254 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata Full or part time roles available, flexible working considered....

We are looking for HCPC Registered Podiatrists with post graduate experience with a high degree of motivation and clinical skills, you will need a flexible approach to service provision with the ability to work as part of a team as well as individually. The successful candidate will be required to have excellent diagnostic and clinical skills to deliver a range of podiatry treatments including wound care, at risk and biomechanical interventions for patients in Bromley.Although predominantly based in a clinical setting, the role is across the Bromley Healthcare area with a small domiciliary caseload. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.The post holder will be up to date with current best practice and demonstrate Bromley Healthcare values in their day to day role working as part of a team. We value healthcare promotion through patient empowerment and education, therefore we require podiatrists who have excellent communication and assessment skills.

We encourage team members to take part in various CPD activities including clinical supervision, in-house training during department meetings in addition to external training sessions.

Registration with the Health professions council is essential.

You will be a communicative team player, with experience in wound care and management of the diabetic foot. You will have opportunity to develop Musculoskeletal podiatry knowledge and put this into practice frequently. You will also be involved in minor surgery clinics.

You will be able to manage a caseload, and although predominantly clinical care will be needed, you will be able to organise visits to those who are unable to attend community clinics. You will be confident in treatment, and be aware of criteria for service. You will know your scope of practice, when to ask for help, and how to escalate concerns to MDFT.

You will be able to liaise with nursing staff to arrange visits, and form treatment plans for internal and external departments to follow.

You will support the service and colleagues in clinic, and when seeing patients at home.

Essential: - Evidence of ongoing CPD

Essential: - Post graduate experience of treating a high-risk caseload including a wound care caseload and a willingness to undertake post graduate training and education in specialist area's of podiatry e.g diabetes; - Post graduate experience of full patient assessment (medical history, vascular, neuropathic etc) and formulating diagnosis & treatment plans.; - Post graduate experience in: - Minor surgical procedures. - Biomechanics including diagnosis, fabrication, prescription and evaluation of orthoses and formulating treatment plans, muscle balancing programmes

Desirable: - Local analgesia injection including calculating maximum safe doses and detecting contraindications to use.; - Post graduate experience of treating a high risk caseload including people with diabetic and ischaemic foot ulceration; - Involvement in Health Education; - Evidence of working within Specialist area's of Podiatry e.g. Podiatric Surgery, Diabetes, R.A etc.; - Training in clinical coaching

Essential: - Ability to diagnose, construct, document, implement and evaluate care plans using a holistic approach; - To demonstrate good organisational skills in managing own caseload with a proportion of high risk patients.; - Good verbal and written Communication skills in order to deal with people of all age groups in clinical situations and also other health care professionals; - Demonstrate ability to use specialist diagnostic & therapeutic equipment e.g., doppler ultrasound, neurosthesiometer, gait analysis systems; - Hand eye co-ordination, dexterity, manipulation, keyboard activity; - Full UK's Driver's Licence & Access to a car for work purposes.

Desirable: - MSK Knowledge; - Wound Care knowledge; - Evidence of contributing to audit and research /evaluation.

Essential: - Podiatry Diploma/ Degree; - Commitment to continuous development of clinical skills and professional knowledge.; - Awareness of current changes within the NHS.

Desirable: - Diabetic Foot Module; - Local Analgesia Administration Certificate; - IRMER certificate; - POMs certificate; - Evidence of CPD portfolio demonstrating knowledge base
