The post holder is responsible for the operational management and delivery of high-quality, patient-focused domestic services across Hampshire Hospita...

  • Lead and coordinate daily domestic operations across the HHCS managed areas, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources and maintaining service continuity across designated areas.
  • Manage, develop and support the domestic team to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality cleaning services in line with Trust standards, policies and performance targets.
  • Monitor service quality through audits, inspections and performance reporting to achieve agreed KPIs and standards.
  • Oversee specialist cleaning programmes, ensuring effective planning, delivery and record keeping.
  • Develop strong working relationships with wards, departments and key stakeholders to support operational requirements and continuous service improvement.
  • Ensure effective workforce management through rota planning, attendance monitoring, recruitment support, performance management, appraisals and staff development.
  • Oversee stock control, resource allocation and the timely reporting and resolution of maintenance, equipment and service-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and management information, ensuring compliance with Trust procedures, governance requirements and statutory obligations.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement, ensuring services contribute positively to patient experience, infection prevention and staff wellbeing.

The post holder will be employed by Hampshire Hospitals Contract Services Ltd. (HHCS) a wholly owned subsidiary of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT). HHCS currently owns and operates several buildings and services within and on behalf of HHFT and is expanding with several new buildings opened and taken over in the past year.

Essential: - Health and Safety Awareness; - Manual Handling Knowledge; - NVQ in Supervision or willing to take on development; - Level 1 standard Literacy and Numeracy Test on entry / or equivalent

Desirable: - BICSc Qualified; - Health and Safety Qualification; - Customer Care Training; - Dementia Training; - ESDL or similar IT Qualification

Essential: - Knowledge of manual handling and health and safety regulations; - Knowledge of Infection Control procedures; - Experience of day to day supervision of staff; - Previous experience in a Domestic Service or similar public facing service; - To be able to use IT packages including Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word

Desirable: - Experience of working in a healthcare environment; - Awareness of COSHH regulations; - Experience of managing large teams

Essential: - Ability to communicate with staff, visitors and patients under challenging circumstances; - Ability to record details clearly and accurately; - Understanding of rota management and annual leave

Desirable: - Experience Leading a Team; - Conflict Resolution / Breakaway training

Essential: - Physically fit enough to undertake duties / lifting, standing, twisting and bending movements activities safely; - Able to remain calm under pressure and in difficult situations; - Problem solver able to deal with difficult situations; - Able to prioritise workload; - Be a good communicator; - Be adaptable and willing to develop

Desirable: - Driving Licence; - Experience of using different IT devices
