Job description

Head of Apprenticeship Quality & Ofsted Institutional Nominee

Ready to lead apprenticeship quality at institutional level and shape an outstanding experience for apprentices, employers and academic teams?

The University of Salford is looking for an experienced apprenticeship quality leader to join us as Head of Apprenticeship Quality & Ofsted Institutional Nominee. This high-profile role will provide strategic leadership for quality assurance, continuous improvement, regulatory readiness and Ofsted inspection activity.

Building on our Ofsted Good apprenticeship provision, you will strengthen institutional assurance and drive enhancement across a portfolio spanning sectors including construction, engineering, health, science and public services.

In this role, you will act as the University’s named Ofsted Institutional Nominee and senior inspection contact, leading apprenticeship quality assurance, self-assessment, improvement planning and inspection readiness. You will advise senior leaders, governance committees, Schools and Professional Services on quality, performance and regulatory risk, using evidence-led improvement to build confidence, consistency and readiness across the institution.

You will bring credibility in apprenticeship quality, external inspection or regulatory assurance, with the confidence to operate at senior level. You will be able to translate complex requirements into clear action, influence diverse stakeholders and use evidence to drive meaningful improvement.

As the University celebrates delivery of 10 years of higher and degree apprenticeships, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of apprenticeship quality at a university with strong industry links, a clear regional mission and a commitment to real-world learning. If you are a strategic, collaborative and values-driven leader, we would love to hear from you.
