A fundamental aspect of this role is to build and embed a positive risk culture throughout the organisation. The post holder will work to ensure that accountability for risk is clearly owned by operational leaders and embedded within directorate governance frameworks, shifting perceptions of risk management from a departmental process to a collective organisational responsibility. This will require exceptional communication, influence, and leadership to secure.

Essential: - Educated to Masters level subject relevant to the post or have equivalent experience in NHS Risk Management; - A strong commitment to continuing professional development
Desirable: - Risk Management qualification
Essential: - Significant experience in similar roles in large complex organisations; - Experience of working in partnership with other organisations; - Practical experience of risk management.; - Proven experience of writing comprehensive reports.; - Demonstrates excellent planning and organisational skills and the professionalism to make adjustments if targets are not met.
Essential: - Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda; - Ability to evidence / demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework; - Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality; - Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.; - Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
Essential: - Management of large teams and setting objectives; - Ability to work on own initiative, prioritising workloads and manage time effectively; - Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
