The Health Care Assistant role compliments and forms a key part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare services within the organisation, implementing and providing high standards of individualised care for the service user. You will be part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team (MDT), which includes nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other allied healthcare professionals.o You will provide holistic, person-centred care and support for service users of all ages in a variety of settings. As a member of the MDT team you will support the registered nurses in the delivery of care to service users and contribute towards the safe and seamless delivery of holistic care, working safely within your scope of practice and competence at all times.o Your primary purpose will be to carry out routine care and health tasks which will be set out in agreed care plans as directed by the registered nurse. These tasks will include the provision of personal and nursing care and other practical support that will help service users recover and / or maintain their independence.o You will deliver clinical care, particularly observation, blood glucose monitoring and simple dressings to service users on the unit under the delegation, support and guidance of a Registered Nurse

Essential: - Experience of direct patient care in a health or social care setting; - Able to work without direct supervision, as agreed within the team, to achieve the objectives of the post; - Able to prioritise tasks; - Able to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of service users with a range of communication needs and/ or cultural backgrounds.; - Able to record succinct and accurate information on the patient record both in writing and electronically
Desirable: - Recent relevant experience within the community or hospital setting
Essential: - NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards
