Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the leading provider of hospital services for North and Mid Hampshire and the surrounding areas. Our hospitals in Basingstoke and Winchester offer a comprehensive range of acute services and serve as tertiary referral centres for colorectal, liver, peritoneal carcinomatosis, haemophilia, and pseudomyxoma surgery.

We deliver services across three main sites--Basingstoke, Winchester, and Andover--serving a population of approximately 600,000. This includes:

Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital (BNHH)Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH) in WinchesterAndover War Memorial Hospital (AWMH)Plus several community hospitals

Our model of care is designed to provide a unified hospital service across multiple localities, ensuring patients receive high-quality care as close to home as possible.

BNHH and RHCH are located just 23 miles apart, ideally positioned along the M3 corridor, with excellent transport links to London and the South Coast.

Essential: - Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems; - Awareness of current acute medical initiatives and developments; - Recent relevant clinical teaching experience within medical and allied disciplines

Desirable: - Participation in research; - Publications in relevant peer reviewed journals; - Formal training in clinical supervision of junior doctors; - Other Educational formal qualification; - Experience in organising educational activities; - Formal training in Educational supervision of junior doctors

Essential: - MBBS or equivalent; - Licence to practice and full registration with GMC; - MRCP (Paces); - Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register, or within 6 months of completion of CCT at time of interview; - Advanced Life Support; - Eligible to work in the UK

Desirable: - Post graduate degree (MSc/PhD)

Essential: - Evidence of achievement of GMC competency standards of Good Medical Practice including: delivery of good acute clinical care and maintaining good medical practice; - good working relationships with colleagues including evidence of good team-working and an understanding of the importance of multidisciplinary working in delivery of patient; - good relationships and communication with children, parents, adults and staff; - good teaching and training; - professional behaviour and probity; - Ability to work adaptably and manage different clinical areas as part of the on call team under consultant supervision

Desirable: - Highly motivated approach

Essential: - At least 6 months prior UK experience at middle grade / registrar level in one or more a medical specialties; - Knowledge and experience of NHS; - Evidence of safe, sound clinical practices

Desirable: - Previous Medicine experience at Consultant level; - Demonstrate participation in audit and research; - Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of service improvement

Essential: - Ability to understand local and national political agendas and respond accordingly; - Ability to perform effectively and maturely in management roles for the benefit of the service.; - Ability to plan strategically and to demonstrate sound judgement; - Ability to lead, motivate and develop the multidisciplinary team; - Ability to organise work of self and team in an efficient and effective way; - Evidence of experience and active engagement in clinical audit; - Ability to work in a team, ability to work flexibly with colleagues, sometimes at short notice, ability to manage staff and resources; - Ability to remain calm under pressure, evidence of self-motivation; - Commitment to Continuing Medical Education; - Enquiring, critical approach to work; - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; - Commitment to Continuing Medical Education; - Evidence of self-motivation

Desirable: - Experience managing and leading specialist working parties; - Formal training in management and administration; - Experience in managing staff rotas
