The Estates Directorate is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible maintenance assistant to join the Engineering Department based at the Ro...

  • Typical PPM tasks will include, but are not limited to; Emergency Light testing; PAT testing; ventilation grille cleaning; air handling unit inspections and cleaning, PPMs, fire alarm testing, Bed Maintenance, Fire Damper Testing etc.. Additional role requirements will also include the completion of minor works and day to day reactive maintenance of an Engineering/ Building manner.
  • Flexible working is required to meet the Estates support demands of a large Acute Hospital Trust.
  • Work under the direction of a craftsperson while working alongsideo Carry out a range of individual and support duties including maintenance and respond to Estates emergencies.o Assist with installation, repair and commissioning of equipment.
  • Specific duties for site & plant room tidiness and safety
  • Driving duties as required
  • Carry out a range of maintenance activities on a variety of plant and equipment
  • Domestic appliance repairs
  • Bed Maintenance
  • Emergency Light Testing
  • Fire Alarm Testing
  • Fire Damper Testing

Desirable: - NVQ Level 2

Essential: - Basic building and engineering knowledge and relevant experience within a maintenance environment; - Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.

Desirable: - Experience with specialist maintenance activities e.g. PAT Testing, Fire Damper testing etc..; - Experience of working in an Acute Hospital environment

Essential: - Be capable of working unsupervised with tools and equipment, on a wide range of technical plant equipment and services; - Both written and verbal communication skills are required.; - Basic keyboard skills; - Work with & without supervision.; - Perform wide range of duties using technical plant and equipment and services.; - Ability to work on planned preventative maintenance programmes.

Desirable: - Current Driving Licence
