The Estates Department is looking for a Mechanical Technician with a background preferably gained in a maintenance, building services or healthcare en...

The successful applicant will be required to carry out planned and reactive mechanical works inclusive of repair, maintenance and improvement to the building and hospital facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

The successful applicant may also be required to assist with other building related tasks as well as mechanical and electrical building services in plant rooms and ward areas.

Essential: - Asbestos Awareness training; - Water Hygiene Training; - Health and Safety Awareness Training; - Manual Handling Training; - Completion of a structured training programme in mechanical engineering; - Knowledge of HTMs

Desirable: - Forklift Training; - Cherry Picker Training; - Scaffold/Mobile Tower Training; - Emergency first aid training; - Inspections of washers/sterilisers

Essential: - A minimum of one years' post qualification experience working in a mechanical maintenance environment; - Good awareness of health & safety legislation and experience of working to safe systems of work

Desirable: - Experience Working in an Acute Hospital or Healthcare Establishment; - A minimum of 2 years' experience of mechanical maintenance work

Essential: - Good Communication Skills; - Ability to work without supervision; - Working to deadlines; - Adaptable to change

Essential: - Holds full current driving licence
