Job description

Sunderland City Council is seeking to recruit an Internal Communications Officer to support and drive forward an exciting period of change within the council.

This is an opportunity to work closely across the council’s communications function to drive activity and embed the vision set out in the City Plan, helping colleagues to understand their role in it and feel ownership of its main objectives.

This role will plan and deliver internal campaigns that reach and engage the council’s many employees. This is a dynamic role, and you will be required to work across different projects and priorities at any one time.

You will work with leaders to refine and embed the values for the council, producing relevant content and materials and ensuring the values are at the forefront of all campaigns and will contribute and work towards the common goal of creating a positive working culture.

This role will measure all campaigns, using a combination of quantitative and qualitive tools, to report on outcomes and improvements, to drive the strategic direction of the internal communications function with a clear focus on longer term outcomes.
