Lawyer
18.5 hours, Fixed term for 2 years
We are looking for a part-time Regulatory Lawyer to join our diverse, busy and friendly legal team. If you are dynamic, dedicated and enthusiastic then we want to hear from you.
This role offers an opportunity to work at the heart of Local Government and you will join the Regulation Team, one of three teams within legal services. Expertise in criminal, civil and / or housing law is essential; advocacy experience is preferred. Within the team, there will be opportunities to broaden current experience due to the diverse areas of legal work covered.
You will have an eye for detail and good organisational skills in order to manage a busy and varied case load. You should also be flexible and innovative in your approach and be able to work as part of a highly effective and valued team.
The post has astarting salary of £25,964 - £28,146 (based on 18.5 hours) subject to a minimum of 2 years PQE (band 10); however.
This would also be a fixed term contract for 2 years.
For applicants with less than 2 years PQE the post would be offered at band 8 (£20,588 - £22,764 based on 18.5 hours), moving to band 10 upon attaining two years PQE and successful completion of the six-month probation period.
The working arrangements are flexible, with office-based working in County Hall, Morpeth and the opportunity to work on a hybrid office / home basis. However, given the nature of the role, attendance at Courts local to Northumberland would also be required.
- A qualified solicitor or barrister or fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives who holds a currentpracticing certificate.
- Proficient at using IT systems including Microsoft Office and legal case / document management systems
- Able to work as part of a team, but also self-motivated.
