Job description

Salary: £27,254 – £27,694 per annum pro rata (actual £19,953 inclusive of MDSA duty on Grade 3)

Contract type: Fixed Term

Working pattern: Part time & Term-time Only

The Governors of Rudyard Kipling Primary School and Nursery wish to appoint a charismatic, highly motivated and nurturing Learning Support Assistant on a fixed term basis for 1 year in the first instance. This post will be to support children within our school who require individualised, creative and purposeful provision.

  • To join and further develop our nurturing and inclusive culture that strives for children to reach their full potential
  • To support the learning of children working on individualised learning plans
  • To plan fun, creative, and engaging activities
  • To be reflective and flexible
  • To work within a team in partnership with the SENCo, class teachers and other colleagues to support the children in reaching their best outcomes
  • To dynamically risk assess and manage children’s safety
  • To believe in outdoor education and embrace our wonderful grounds and resources
  • To follow our Empowerment Approach and School Values to enhance the children’s learning
  • To have an understanding of strategies which support SEND learners, such as Just Right, Makaton, visuals, structure and routine
  • To have experience of supporting children with complex needs who can demonstrate challenging behaviour
  • To establish positive relationships with parents, and families
