Job description

Transforming lives through excellent education

London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.

Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.

ABOUT THE POST

AV Support Assistants will support teaching spaces by testing and monitoring audio-visual (AV) equipment, ensuring systems are fully operational, and logging service requests for repairs or maintenance where required. Routine AV room checks would be carried out by AV Support Assistant to ensure teaching room technology remains operational, reliable, and ready for use.

  • Test and inspect AV equipment in teaching rooms to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Provide first-line AV support and troubleshooting assistance to staff and students as required.
  • Log and manage service desk tickets, providing clear and accurate updates on reported AV issues.
  • Assist with basic AV maintenance and remedial actions where appropriate.
  • Escalate complex faults to relevant support teams and monitor progress to resolution.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of AV systems across teaching spaces.

This role is for x2 post holders for a period of 8 weeks working a shared total of up to 24 hours per week.
