We’re looking for a Reablement Worker to join our casual team at Borrowdale House, supporting people in South Tyneside to rebuild confidence, regain independence and continue living well after a stay in hospital.

We’re looking for a caring, practical and motivated person to join our casual Reablement Worker team at Borrowdale House. Borrowdale House is a specialist Rehabilitation and Extra Care service based in South Tyneside.
If you’ve previously worked in a care, reablement or support worker role and have helped people regain independence after a hospital stay, we’d love to hear from you.
As a Reablement Worker you will work closely with our Therapy and Support Leads, Registered Manager, and other professionals to ensure a high level of person-centred care is delivered using a therapy led, individualised reablement care and support plan and risk assessments.
A typical shift might involve supporting someone with daily routines, encouraging them to rebuild confidence, following therapy guidance, administering medication where required, and working with colleagues and families to support safe, person-centred care.
- Has experience working in Adult Social or Health care
- Can support people using personalised, outcome-based reablement plans
- Communicates clearly and works well with families, colleagues and other professionals
- Builds positive relationships with a wide range of people
- Makes sound professional decisions
- Is motivated to support positive change and improve services
- Brings enthusiasm, drive and ambition to a supportive team.
This is a casual role, offering flexibility to work around other commitments while supporting the service across days, evenings, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. Some shifts may be offered at short notice, so we’re looking for someone who can be flexible and responsive
