Shape the future of Stockton-on-Tees

Are you an experienced Civil Engineer looking for the opportunity to deliver projects that make a real difference to communities?

Do you want to work on a varied portfolio of highway, infrastructure and regeneration schemes, have ownership of your projects and help shape how services are delivered?

We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Design Services Team and play a key role in delivering an ambitious programme of capital projects across Stockton-on-Tees.

This is more than just a design role.

  • You'll work on a diverse range of projects including:
  • Highway improvement schemes
  • Infrastructure and regeneration projects
  • Highway structures and asset management
  • Environmental improvement works
  • New developments and associated infrastructure
  • Feasibility studies, design and project delivery
  • Transport and highway initiatives that directly improve communities

From concept through to completion, you'll have the opportunity to lead complex projects, influence decisions and help shape the future of the borough.

What you'll be doing

Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you will:

  • Deliver a significant programme of civil engineering and highway design projects.
  • Manage projects, budgets and resources from inception through to completion.
  • Develop innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical advice and support across a range of services.
  • Support the management of the Council's highway structures.
  • Work closely with developers, contractors, consultants and partner organisations.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the team.
  • Contribute to service improvements and the development of future engineering solutions.
