Job description
The Business Intelligence Team plays a pivotal role at the heart of the organisation, turning data into insight and insight into action. We lead in capturing high-quality performance information from across the organisation and transforming it into meaningful intelligence that empowers managers to deliver outstanding services.
We don't just provide data--we help people understand it. By supporting managers to interpret their performance reports, we enable them to make confident, evidence-based decisions that enhance service quality and improve outcomes for the individuals and communities we serve.
We ensure all statutory and contractual reporting is delivered accurately and on time, meeting the expectations of internal teams as well as external stakeholders such as commissioners. Our work strengthens transparency, drives performance, and keeps the organisation accountable to the highest standards.
Business Intelligence will increasingly be of strategic significance, supplying the organisation with the insight required to manage budgets effectively, spot trends, and steer the organisation toward long-term goals. Our Intelligence helps shape the direction of the organisation, influence future investment, and unlock opportunities for innovation and improvement.
o Work with the Principal Analyst to provide a comprehensive and high-quality performance management service to the organisation, and externally across a range of organisationso Plan projects and strategies for developing statistical/analytical information aspects of business areao Support and deputise for Principal Analysto Line management of Information Analystso Create and maintain effective team working and motivate otherso Work with Data Warehouse team to develop the Sirona data warehouse to improve business intelligence efficiencies and effectivenesso Work with the Systems Team to advise on reporting requirements and develop electronic solutions for data capture

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of national health and social care datasets, standards, data quality targets, and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data modelling, and BI best practices
- Have understanding and knowledge of GDPR rules to ensure safe transfer of data both internally and Externally
- Ability to develop, test, document, and monitor reporting processes.
- Significant experience working in a business intelligence, data analytics, informatics, or similar role.
- Experience in managing employees/teams
Education & Training
- Proficient in SQL, including developing and modifying queries
- Proficient in Power BI, including report creation and data modelling
- Strong understanding of data quality principles, SOPs, and Data Quality Improvement Plans (DQIPs).
- Ability to extract and work with data from a variety of sources (e.g., EMIS, ESR, SAGE, Ulysses).
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant analytical, data, or informatics field.
- Knowledge of NHS systems and Protocols
