Help Shape Safer, Stronger Communities Across Greater Manchester

Are you passionate about public service and making a real difference to people's lives? Do you thrive on building partnerships, influencing policy, and driving positive change?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Policy & Partnership Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver key priorities across Greater Manchester, with a particular focus on the gender-based violence and victims’ portfolios alongside wider policy and partnership work. You will work with a broad range of colleagues, partners, stakeholders, elected members and communities.

As a Senior Policy & Partnership Officer, you will support the development and delivery of strategic policies, programmes, and partnership activity that improve outcomes for residents. You will research complex issues, coordinate projects, develop effective relationships, and provide high-quality advice and support to senior leaders and partners.

  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, strategies and partnership initiatives, including work across the gender-based violence and victims’ portfolios alongside broader priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with local authorities, public sector partners, community organisations and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct research, analyse information, and prepare reports, briefings and recommendations.
  • Manage and coordinate projects and work programmes, ensuring priorities are delivered effectively.
  • Develop strong networks and partnerships to support shared objectives and improved outcomes.
  • Monitor emerging issues, legislation and best practice to inform policy development.
  • Represent the organisation at meetings, workshops and partnership forums where appropriate.
  • Has experience of policy development, partnership working, programme delivery or a related field; knowledge or experience relevant to gender-based violence would be an advantage.
  • Can analyse complex information and turn it into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Builds effective working relationships and works collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Can organise competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
  • Is proactive, resilient and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Is professionally curious and develops creative solutions.
  • Shares our passion for public service and improving outcomes for communities.

This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of an organisation committed to making Greater Manchester a safer, fairer and more prosperous place. We offer:

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • A supportive and inclusive working environment.
  • Opportunities to work on high-profile and impactful programmes.
