Job description

The Corporate Strategy Team within the Strategy and Corporate Affairs Directorate is seeking to appoint a Senior Stronger Communities Officer to lead on the council’s stronger communities activity, as part of the development and delivery of the city’s Stronger Communities Framework.
In this role, you will support the Senior Manager - Corporate Strategy in delivering a strategic, city-wide approach to building stronger communities. You will help to identify and deliver on priorities which support the creation of stronger communities, while planning and coordinating a high-quality programme of activity that supports effective and meaningful community engagement with communities across the city.
You will work closely with partners, stakeholders and communities to grow the stronger communities programme, and support the development of strategy, action plans and practical toolkits, providing best practice, advice and support to help embed a city-wide effort and approach.

The role will involve identifying funding and collaboration opportunities that address challenges in service delivery along with robust measuring and monitoring of stronger communities activity against agreed objectives, that supports regular reporting and the creation of actionable insight.
We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level, or has equivalent experience in a relevant subject, with a proven track record of working in a partnership setting. You should have experience of maintaining an effective overview of community landscapes, emerging issues and stakeholder insights, as well as experience in building and supporting the delivery of effective programmes of activity.
Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills will be essential as will be the ability to work independently on your own initiative, while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
