Job description

Charnwood Borough Council in Leicestershire is searching for the latest member of #TeamCBC!

The Council is recruiting for a Service Charges Project Officer, on a fixed term contract to March 2028.

Charnwood Borough Council in Leicestershire is looking for someone experienced in all aspects of service charging to domestic rented flats and houses to join the landlord services team in order to develop and implement a project to introduce service charging to its 5,000+ council-rented homes. We estimate that the project will take 18 months from start to finish.

  • leading and delivering the service charge implementation project in the levying of agreed service charges to our tenants;
  • supporting and administering the actual delivery of service charging to council tenants and managing the implementation phases of the project;
  • creating and establishing an effective administration and reporting system for the levying and collection of service charges to council tenants;
  • delivering an effective and appropriate service to all service users, fairly and without discrimination.

The Person

We are looking for a competent individual who is both technically experienced in service charging but who also is customer-focused and a team player. A knowledge of relevant Housing Law and an ability to analyse complex data and present information effectively is essential for this role.
