Job description

The post holder: Takes a role in the implementation and provision of Sexual Health outreach activities across West Sussex, reflecting the key findings...

Provides up to date, accurate information, health education, advice and support to service users and their relatives/carers such as explaining diagnosis of a STI/HIV or contraceptive choices to a patient or partner, using skilled interpersonal interactions. Communicates varied, highly sensitive and complicated information (verbally and in writing) in a way that is understood and gets important facts across and where there may be barriers to understanding such as challenging behaviour, language, cultural, mental health or neurodiversity vulnerabilities.

Leads and works within nurse provided clinical sessions, often working as a lone worker in mainly non-clinical settings, providing highly specialised advice concerning the care of health inclusion groups, many of whom find accessing mainstream services for their treatment and care difficult. Issues or prescribes medicines/treatments in accordance with local care pathways and in accordance with the NMC Administration of Medicines Guidelines

Candidate Pack

Essential: - Registered nurse Associate member or Diplomate of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health Care; - Nationally recognised approved CASH qualification e.g. NDFRSH; NA 298/NA394/NA6138; ENB 90/900/R71; - Letter of Competence for Sub Dermal Implants insertion and removal; - Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist training to masters equivalent level

Essential: - Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues; - Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role)
