Job description

Paediatric Physiotherapist - Children's Therapy Service

Are you an experienced Physiotherapist looking to specialise in paediatrics and make a meaningful difference to children's lives? Join our welcoming and innovative Children's Therapy Service based at Basildon Hospital, with opportunities to work across Basildon, Southend and Broomfield Hospital sites as part of our cross-site team.

You will become part of a supportive, dynamic, and well-led MSE-wide team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants who are committed to integrated working, delivering outstanding patient care, and achieving the best possible outcomes for children and their families.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physiotherapist with a passion for paediatric care, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a commitment to continuous professional development. You'll be supported by experienced site-based Team Leads, an MSE-wide Children's Therapy Lead, and the Head of Therapies, while working closely with colleagues across children's and adult services.

If you pride yourself on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and want to develop your career within a thriving and collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help us provide exceptional therapy services to children across Mid and South Essex.

Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management for children and young people across a broad range of paediatric conditions and clinical settings.

Develop advanced clinical skills and expertise in paediatric physiotherapy through the management of complex and varied caseloads.

Deliver evidence-based interventions in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised treatment programmes to support optimal patient outcomes and development.

Participate in multidisciplinary outpatient clinics, including specialties such as rheumatology, orthopaedics and oncology, contributing to integrated patient care.

Support the delivery of specialist services including hydrotherapy, where required, as part of comprehensive rehabilitation programmes.

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, patients and families to facilitate effective care planning, education and discharge management.

Gain experience in neonatal physiotherapy and developmental follow-up clinics, contributing to the assessment and ongoing care of infants and children with developmental needs.

Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust.
