Site Supervisor for Silver Birch Primary School

Job Title: Site Supervisor

Location : Silver Birch Primary School, Shaftoe Rd, Springwell, Sunderland SR3 4HA

Grade: 3      Scale Point: 7-11      Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 per annum

Reporting to: Headteacher and School Business Manager

Contract: Full Time – Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week Split shifts: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am–10:30am and 2:00pm–6:00pm; Friday, 7:00am–10:30am and 2:00pm–5:30pm.

The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated Site Supervisor to join the team at Silver Birch Primary School, a brand-new state-of-the-art primary school opening in November 2026.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for someone who will take real pride in our new school, ensuring it remains a safe, welcoming and an inspiring place for children, staff and the community for many years to come.

Silver Birch Primary School has been purpose-built to provide outstanding facilities for our children, including extensive grounds, purpose-built learning spaces including a specialist cooking classroom, an immersive space, an E-sports room and a studio space. Outdoor learning environments and modern teaching facilities will make our school a wonderful place to learn. We are looking for someone who is passionate about maintaining these exceptional facilities and surroundings to the very highest standard and who sees this as more than a caretaking role - it is an opportunity to shape and promote a school that will be at the heart of our community.

The successful candidate will be proactive, practical and take enormous pride in their work. They will be capable of maintaining a large, modern school site and extensive grounds and will have the initiative to identify and resolve maintenance issues before they become problems. Above all, we are looking for someone who wants to make Silver Birch Primary School their pride and joy, ensuring every child arrives each day to a school that is clean, safe, attractive and cared for.

The role requires the ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of the wider school team. Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards are essential.
